Tom Cavanaugh is the chief executive offer of Cavanaugh Macdonald Consulting, LLC. He is graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and received and M.B.A. degree at the University of Hartford. Tom is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and an enrolled actuary. He has served on both the Pension Committee and the Pension Accounting Committee of the American Academy of Actuaries, as well as the International Foundation’s Public Employees Board. Tom currently serves as a member of the Post-Employment Benefits Task Force of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board. He has written a number of articles on public sector issues and is a frequent speaker at meetings of national associations which represent public employee retirement systems.
